Get Paid to Blog - Automate Blog Post Selling with the Wordpress Bankroll Plugin
If you’ve ever wanted to cut out middlemen like Payperpost and still get paid to blog, the Wordpress BankRoll Plugin will be just what you need. This plugin automates the process of selling a paid post by allowing advertisers to buy blog posts from you by simply clicking on a link and paying the designated price.
All you’ll have to do is to write the post or approve it once it has been submitted. Very easy and hassle-free way to make money blogging.
There have been a few companies that offered paid blog posts for this purpose. Obviously the bad choice with that is they take a cut of your pay.
With the Wordpress BankRoll Plugin you keep 100% of the money! The plugin offers a very easy to use submission form followed by a quick payment process via Paypal.
The backend is extremely powerful yet simple to configure. You have complete control over your submissions. With the payment tracking systems it makes it simple to review/edit/approve posts.
How does the Wordpress Bankroll plugin work?
The plugin works in a fairly straight forward way for both advertisers and the bloggers. Here is a step by step outline of the process:
- Install the BankRoll plugin and place the plugin code on your sidebar or any other location on your blog.
- A link called “Sponsor a post” will appear and advertisers can click on the link if they want to buy a sponsored post.
- Clicking on the link brings them to a submission form where they can choose to submit a pre-written post or have you write a post for them.
- The buyer will also be able to select the category for the post, include the title as well as the specific links and anchor text they want to use. They can also choose to feature the post on your sidebar for an additional fee.
- After making an option and filling up all the post details, they’ll click on a link which will send them a Paypal page that allows them to make payment immediately.
- After payment has been made, the submitted post becomes a draft post and is marked as paid and ready for review or approval. You can then start to write the post or simply publish it so it’ll show up on your blog.
- Check out this demo page to see how the plugin functions.
The admin panel for this plugin allows you to have control over specific details such as your designated Paypal ID, how much you want to charge for a post, the number of featured posts to display on your sidebar, your disclosure phrase as well as a list of posting guidelines for the advertiser.
You can also choose to disallow paid posts in specific categories and decide the length of a paid post as well as the number of anchor links that are allowed.
The plugin is available for free but requires a link back to the plugin homepage. Paid licenses are also available for single and multiple domains.
The paid version of the plugin is exactly the same as the free version except that there is no link back to the plugin page. Note that the support forums are available for both paid and free version of the plugin.
Currently, the price of a paid license for a single domain is US $49.99 but I’ve talked to Aaron Nimocks, the author of this plugin and he has kindly offered a 50% discount for Dosh Dosh’s readers. You’ll just need use the coupon code “doshdosh” during checkout when you are buying the plugin for a single domain.
My suggestion would be to try the free plugin first and to see how fits your needs. If you find the plugin useful, you can consider buying it.
I won’t be using this plugin for Dosh Dosh but if you do try it, please leave a comment and some feedback on how it has worked for you.

Thanks for the outstanding write up for the plugin!
That’s something new to me. Well, I’m just wondering, let’s say if I don’t wanna approve one of the sponsored post requests, aren’t the advertisers going to complain or even sue me ’cause they already made the paypal payment to me? When I offer the refund, I’m sure they are going to ask for compensation or at least cover the paypal fees. There are pros and cons, I think I’ll leave it to the middleman.
That’s a pretty darn smart plugin, nice work!
when u do a refund via paypal, it returns the entire portion to the person including the fees so the person gets a complete refund and you don’t lose out on anything if you don’t want to do their review and refund their money.
Very, very cool plugin Maki. I am definitely going to try this one.
Awesome, Maki, that’s a great plugin! I’m still kind of “meh” on whether I want to do a paid posting thing…but I really, really like this idea. Very cool, I’ll bookmark and definitely keep this in mind!
Interesting… but you will get more offers from advertisers if you use ‘middlemen’ services like payperpost, but if you have a very popular blog this won’t be an issue and then this plugin would be the way to go.

I like the concept from both the perspective of a blogger and publisher and from the perspective of an advertiser.
The license fee seems a bit steep if I consider multiple sites, but if I just had a single site it would be a pretty good deal.
Thank You
Can’t seem to get the “doshdosh” coupon code to work. Do you know if it’s still in effect? Couldn’t find a contact form at the Bankroll Plugin site.
Thanks
this blog post can be found when i search the term “blog post selling” in google anyway good plugin!
The coupon code doshdosh is not active at this time, the price has been lowered over 50% from now on…
The review is for version 1, please test out version 2 and send me feedback on the wpbankroll forum
We’ll try to add the features you recommend…
use the coupon code DIGITALPOINT to get $5 off paid version…
Excellent post. Thank you very much.
Matt608 makes a very good point. It might be better to use one of the big market middlemen at first to gain a reputation and then switch to the direct method once you have clients waiting or expect to. Or you could try to have the best of both worlds- ReviewMe seems to allow you to have other sponsored links beside theirs, so perhaps PayPerPost and others do too. At least, I couldn’t find anything on the ReviewMe site saying that you cannot do this. However, I would shy away from trying to steal clients that ReviewMe sent you, that’s just dishonest.
This is a very good plugin, for those who want to directly interact with advertisers…
Btw it seems there is some prob with their site…i tried to download the free version but after registering they send an email to activate the account, which i’m not getting.
I tried to register with another email id but having same prob. I’m not getting the activation email.
Even their reset password thing is also not sending emails to me…i checked my spam folder too…
So, if anyone having a free version of their plugin plz mail me…

vibhash, perhaps you could email the website owners and ask them about why you didn’t get the activation email.
