Dosh Dosh Reaches 10,000 Subscribers (and the Reason Why People Subscribe to a Blog)
The main reason why people subscribe to blog feeds can be explained in one sentence: Readers subscribe to blogs when they provide an informational or entertainment value so great that it would be a loss to not subscribe to it.
People are self-serving most of the time. They monitor content to be informed, educated and entertained. We are all consumers.
Visitors may also subscribe in order to be updated on your content, in order to use it as a networking tool or a source of inspiration for their own articles
In any case, people subscribe to a blog when the author or his/her opinions add and not subtract from the reader: The attention given to your site must be reciprocated or returned in the form of short and long term benefits derived from your content.
There’s a lot to do and not to do when it comes to increasing feed subscriptions. Without proper statistical testing, it’s difficult to measure the real ROI from feed link placements and incentive-based schemes. These factors are usually circumstantial as well because they depend on factors like design, niche and voice.
My advice for increasing feed subscribers: Minimize noise. Maximize signal. Always create content relevant to your audience’s interests. Cut down on me-too or meaningless news posts. Create more unique, thought provoking content with original analysis. Don’t be afraid to share your honest opinions.
One more thing: learn how to market your blog. This is incredibly important. A true readership develops when you create low-noise, high value content and promote it to the right people with enough influence to not only send over targeted traffic but improve the reputation of your site. And that’s all there is to it.
Dosh Dosh Has 10,000 Feed Subscribers: Thanks Everyone!

When I started Dosh Dosh a year ago, I decided to conduct a sociological experiment. I wanted to know one thing: How many people will actually subscribe to my blog if I don’t display my feed count or provide incentives for subscription?
Apparently over 10,000 people. The subscription level for Dosh Dosh has increased steadily over the course of a year. Instead of talking about what I did, let’s take a look at some the things I didn’t do or have:
- No Feedcount. I did not display my feed count on Dosh Dosh for its entire lifespan and yesterday afternoon was the first time I put up my feed numbers. My feed count was also deactivated until I reached 8000 subscribers, which means no one could discover how many subscribers I had until that point.
- No Guest Posting. I have not written any guest posts for any site with the purpose of driving traffic back to my blog. I only wrote for Dosh Dosh.
- No Contests/Projects. Never held any contests, group writing projects, blog carnivals or competitions at all on this blog.
- No Advertising. Not a single cent was spent on buying ads to promote Dosh Dosh. Every single visitor that comes to this blog is organic.
- No Incentives. Apart from the content itself, I have never offered any incentives to encourage subscriptions. This means no ebooks, free reviews or gifts of any sort.
- No Guest bloggers. No one else has ever written any articles on this blog.
- No Digg frontpages. A long time ago, an article reached the Digg frontpage and was buried in a few minutes. After that, all content from Dosh Dosh has been automatically buried by Digg’s internal system (a plausible theory).
- No Frequent Posting. For the later part of Dosh Dosh’s lifespan, I wrote infrequently, sometimes only publishing one or two articles in an entire week.
Most of the points above are practiced by most bloggers concerned with their feed subscriber numbers. At the very least, bloggers will display their feed count as a form of social proof to encourage other subscribers to sign up.
I deliberately refrained from displaying the feed count in order to determine how many people will subscribe even though there is a lack of input from other readers. I didn’t guest post, advertise or provide incentives because I wanted to get a rough numerical estimation on the size of my ‘real’ feed audience.
What does this prove, if anything? That it’s very possible to get a decent readership even if you don’t overtly go after subscribers by purchasing ads or providing incentives. Creating excellent content and getting exposure for it through the right influencers and platforms is very important, in my opinion.
I’ve seen some bloggers guest blogging actively while getting on the Digg frontpage and offering ebook incentives for subscription. Some of them used to have more subscribers than me but not any more. I and others outgrew them.
Incentives and other gimmicks aren’t going to get you very far if you don’t know how to consistently put out content that differentiates your site. They certainly aren’t useless but you don’t need them to grow either. Once again, thanks everyone!

Congratulations Dosh! I’ve been a long time visitor/reader to your blog, but haven’t subscribed, so I can only imagine how many people read your blog weekly and check it daily like I do!
Keep blogging the way you do and you will continue to attract visitors who really enjoy what you have to say.
Congratulations on the big 10k! You’ve been doing a great job of bringing people in to read your posts. It’s interesting to see just how well you’ve done that, now that you’re showing the numbers.
Congrats to you Maki! I’m really happy to hear that it was all done organically.
I think Feedburner is going to have to make a new graphic to make room when you hit the next big landmark. 10,000 is already filling up the whole bar. If only that was my worry….
Well Done Maki!
w00t! Congrats on the steady climb of subscribers and thanks for sharing your experience.
Thats just awesome Maki! Congrats. It definitely would have been a loss to not subscribe to your RSS feed
well done!
Congrats, and no further proof needed that relevant content is, indeed, king.
Well you just got another one! Good job!
Congratulations Maki, here’s to the next 10k!
Congratulations on hitting the 10,000 mark!! Great article… I’m glad to see that organic growth is still ‘in’!
Its incredible how popular you’ve become, but its not really a surprise. You have incredible content and your linking skills prove why you have such good SERPs. Congrats, Maki. Keep it up.
Congratulations Maki. This is an exciting post because it sort of cuts out a lot of those possible strategies for growing a blog and brings it back to the basics. Instead of trying to game Digg or whatever, focusing on quality content and link building is still a sound strategy. It is so good to finally see a Feed Count on your website! Your blog continues to inspire me. Thanks!
Many congrats, Maki. You’re a true leader in this industry.
Yea, Maki!
Great news! Congratulations! Don’t forget the part about being a person readers look up to. As they say, you earned it the old fashioned way.
Congratulations….very deserved!!!
Well done. You certainly deserve the right to crow about your milestone. It was also interesting to read how you achieved your goals, and I do have to say… you shot all my theories out of the water
Jokes aside, congrats.
Congrats and I cannot wait until I will be saying the same about my feed count. I am stuck at 51 right now. Boo HOo, but I just love blogging.
Very nice and congratulations, Maki. I love to hear the organic-type stories about high sub numbers simply from posting good content and being discovered through the search engines or by word of mouth. Imagine if you did half of the stuff on that list the number would probably double/triple/quadruple. Your growth is impressive and your content is outstanding.
congrat maki. but actually i already know how many subscribers you have since you already activate the feedcount. just replace the ~fc, for the example you feed
feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/DoshDosh
Very impressive!
Well done, mate! I’ve enjoyed many of your articles since I found doshdosh in May last year, I have used prosense on a couple of sites (with surprisingly good CTR) – I guarantee I’ll continue to subscribe and hopefully see you climb through the 20,000 mark soon!
Cheers
- rich
So the question is:
Why are you being auto-buried in Digg?
Wow I never knew that you didn’t do all of those traditional growth methods, it is pretty amazing that you have been able to get so far on just the content – although they do say content is king
Got any secret goals for the next year?
Regarding no 3 (no contests/projects) and no 5 (no incentives), whereas this may be true for the Feedburner RSS feed, there was the Technorati Favourite’s Exchange – http://www.doshdosh.com/technorati-favorites-exchange/ (which is how you caught my attention) and Technorati users who’d favourited your feed would be counted in your Feedburner statistics.
Regarding no 1 (deactivated feedcount), I knew about this. I noticed from your site you used Feedburner, so I put in the code for the feed, however you hadn’t activated it. Personally I think feed numbers act as social proof (eg people are more willing to do something that other people (or groups of other people) are doing).
Content that differentiates your site is a major thing to success as people like an original “brand” that isn’t just showing the same information that’s on twenty other sites.
What would be useful (maybe for a future article) is the breakdown of RSS subscribers (which you can see in your admin panel). For example you put the “Get Updates by email” link in a prominent place, but what proportion of your RSS feed subscribers subscribe this way?
What proportion of your visitors come from links in the feed vs other sources (eg search engines or links in from other sites)?
What do you use to track traffic (eg Google Analytics, raw logfiles etc)?
How much bandwidth do you use each month and how much does it cost?
These are all questions, because of the area you’re in I’m sure readers are interested to know about. One of the downsides to success can be the increased costs (especially if people exceed their monthly bandwidth requirements set down by their hosting company).
Amazing Maki, a really great demonstration that it’s possible to hit the counter with high number just by writing awesome content. Your posts are always stellar. Bravo.
Congratulations! And that’s a lot of NO list.
I expect YES list in some of next posts
Congratulations Maki! I am sure your site will soon reach 100k subscribers.
Well, I guess humbleness pays!
Maki,
Thanks for all your hard work. You’re such an inspiration, and deserve every bit of what you’ve accomplished here.
Warmly,
Tina
That’s fantastic news! And even better, you announce it with tips for the rest of us to consider. You certainly do live by the advice that you write… and it can be felt by those who support you. No doubt, you’ll continue to win that support!
Best of luck!
I’m subscribed and loving the content here.
Kudos !
Thanks for sharing Maki. Especially the part about “No frequent posting”. It really takes a load off.
Congrats!
Although I too have a feed for my blog and have a respectable number of subscribers, personally I don’t think it’s a good thing. Instead of coming to my website daily to see if there’s anything they want to read, they just check their feed reader. Also, the bloggers that show the entire article in their feeds really miss out because the subscribers can read the posts without even visiting the website. Since most of us that blog also hope to make some money, this defeats the purpose of advertising since advertising needs to be seen to be effective.
Maki – Congrats. This post says a lot about the changing nature of our industry and more. I hope you stay around this space for a LONG time. You proved one of my points on Twitter the other day. Keep up the great stuff!
Maki, just want to pop by and say congrats! Come to think of it, your selflessness is one of the main reasons why this blog grew so much.
Your selflessness to share your knowledge & research in your articles. And your selflessness to help your readers. Can’t tell you how much I respect you for the initiatives to help your readers with their site marketing goals and the recent “Ask Dosh Dosh” column.
That goes a long way, isn’t it. And it really shows your integrity. Keep up the great work, Maki.
Cheers,
Ellesse
mmm great where i can see the suscriber to my blog?
Congratulations on your success! Much of what you have suggested goes “against the grain” of conventional wisdom of what can make a blog successful. You have proven the quality trumps quantity—sometimes blogging with less frequency leads to higher quality, and more thought-out posts in general.
Well done Maki! I think you should have titled this “How I Got 10,000 Subscribers by Working My Ass Off,” though. The dedication and thought you put into your posts is the source of your success, and not easily duplicated.
Congrats Maki on the big 10K! I just discovered your blog recently and I’ve been enjoying it. What was your motivation for starting your blog (other than making money)? Did you plan to not market it when you started and go against conventional wisdom just to see what would happen? Bravo for creating such a successful resource for us just by providing high quality content. You make it sound so simple!
Maki – an impressive and extremely noteworthy accomplishment, congratulations.
And even more importantly, thank you for sharing.
@ Rudy
That’s the question on most publisher’s minds isn’t it? Nobody will ever know why they are on auto-bury because auto-bury doesn’t exist. It isn’t something officially acknowledged by Digg so one can only speculate on the reasons why… and there are a ton of them. Maybe fodder for a future article.
@ John Brace
I know feedcount = social proof, which is exactly why I deliberately deactivated it and did not put it up on my site. I think doing a statistical analysis of all the factors you’ve mentioned doesn’t really provide anything useful for other readers. After all, every site has a different design/usability scheme and the activity of feed users simply varies according to post frequency and timing, which is different for each blog. If I blog everyday, I’ll get more feed hits etc.
It’s hard to draw general conclusions that would be relevant to most other bloggers. If I were to do such an article, having a larger sample size (more than one) would be more helpful. Having said that, I am interested in learning a little more about web analytics… its an area I’ve not explored in detail.
Thanks for your suggestions!
@ Jay F.H
You’re welcome! Don’t get too hung up with post frequency. Writing well and marketing well is far most important, at least if you’re not a news blog.
@ Hammer
If you want visitors to come over to your site, you can simply run a partial feed. It depends on the goals of the blogger I guess.
I’m in the idea promotion business and my goal is to get my ideas or opinions across to as wide an audience as possible. A full RSS feed helps readers to access my content consistently and conveniently on a timely basis and that’s very useful. If you are trying to make money off display ads, search engine visitors are probably where the money really is…. I’m sure you already know this from experience.
@ Ellesse
I’m glad you liked the advice column… I was wondering what the readers thought about it. Thanks for the encouraging feedback!
@ Nadie007
Try signing up for Feedburner, a RSS feed management tool: http://feedburner.com … if you have any problems, feel free to email me via my contact form and I’ll try to help.
@ Sonia
That would be an appropriate name indeed.
@ Ted Prodromou
My initial motivation was originally to just write about and record my experiments on the topic of making a living online. As I gradually learned more about internet marketing and social media, I started writing more tutorials in that area. I enjoy sharing and connecting with other like-minded individuals and dosh dosh provides me with a platform for that.
Yes, I planned to not market the site when it started… just to see how big of an audience I could attract. I’ve not put up my feedcount since the beginning and that’s probably the hardest thing for me to do… to not reveal something that could potentially benefit my site. Still, it was good to get the confirmation that yes, people will still subscribe to and read your content even if they don’t know the actions of others.
@ Debra, Jon, Patrick & Tina
You’re welcome! I’m glad you found something useful in this article..
@ Everyone else
Thanks everyone for your responses and kind words! I appreciate it a lot.
This is a fantastic blog and a fantastic post! Go Dosh Dosh!
Congratulations, Maki! I’ve been enjoying your articles for months. During that period, I unsubscribed many others blogs, but I’m always subscribed to yours. The reason is exactly what you said: maximum signal, minimum noise.
Wow very impressive! Great work Maki, I see you have already shot up to over 11,000!
A well-deserved achievement. This proves that if you have excellent content, then people will naturally come to you. You’re my role model now and I will try to emulate what you have done in my blog.
Thanks for the inspiration.
I just found your blog today and subscribe to RSS instantly. What interest me is that you put anime pictures with every post you made. Very nice. Keep it up.
Your content rocks!
Congratulations, and if I can ask you, how are you going to celebrate this feat, Maki?
Wow, Congrats Maki!
This blog has really been an inspiration to me, both in content and how it’s grown. I’m launching a new blog soon, and will follow this model.
Thanks for sharing it.
You are wonderfully humble act to follow that we all can learn from. Congrats!
Congratulations! This is a definitely an inspiration to me and just goes to show that writing quality content is more important than frequency. Too often experts state that you should be writing something new daily even if it has no real value. But I think you’re proof of the opposite!
I noticed one thing that you do and many bloggers fail to is have a call to action at the end of each blog post asking people to subscribe. I’ve started doing this in the last few months and it’s definitely increased my subscriber numbers.
Keep up the good work!
Eddy Salomon
Congrats. It was definitely well deserved. I wish your feed count rockets even further…
Well done – 10,000 readers is brilliant. And it’s nice to know that this can be done without bribery or manipulation.
I notice some bloggers constantly bribe people with prizes to sign up to their feeds and I would hate to be in that position. And some reward visitors for comment spamming.
Whilst those blogs make a lot of money, few of the posts provide value to their visitors, so I don’t understand what satisfaction they gain from blogging.
At least you know people subscribe to your blog because they enjoy reading what you have to say and that must be far more satisfying.
Congratulations on your feed count! I recently subscribed to your feed. Since you have not driven traffic to your site and haven’t advertised, this is the best post to prove to new bloggers that content truly is king. If you have good posts the readers will come. Just one blogger can write about you on his blog and that could be the beginning of the end…
Hoi Maki!
Congratulations. So I am not the only one who’s looking forward to your high quality articles? Keep on doing the good work. A real honest Thanks !!
Congratulations!
I wouldn’t be surprised if you had gained 20000 subscribers by now.
Congrats Maki!
I’m interested in what you didn’t do – but for number 1 – are you planning to continue not doing the rest? Or is there room for some of the others to come in now?
Again, well done and keep going!
Congrats Maki.
You show everyone how it’s done
If you write it they will come
Weel done. This site is cool.
Remarkable one year success story. Congratulations. Proof that content is king.
Maki,
At first, I thought you needed to post daily M-F as I take my morning coffee with cream, sugar, and Maki. On reflection I realized that often I reread your articles because I glean even more and your content is so ‘rich’.
Congrats on the numbers and thanks!
Congrats again. I come here mainly becuase most of your posts are very well written, structured, and most importantly have value. I told you once before that if you charged people to read your blog I would pay for it.
Maki,
I think that you have proven that there are many ways to get traffic to your blog, but then the key to your success is to:
“…provide an informational or entertainment value so great that it would be a loss to not subscribe to it.”
Great advice.
Congrats on your success!
Grats Maki!I’m following your footsteps!
Congratulations on reaching the 10k subscribers milestone Maki. Hope you’ll double that number as soon as possible.
Maki, I am damn sure your readers love you for teh value of yoru content. As you say, ‘no noise, high signal’. But it might be relatively easier for you to pack a punch in your niche, there are people still trying to figure out who are the intende readers! LIke me!
Congrats n reaching a landmark!
Congrats Maki! I’m glad to see the subscriber count up now as I’ve been curious. This is one of my favorite blogs because of the constant quality that you produce, so I’m a big fan of your posting less frequently with more substance.
Congrats, Maki. Looks like I was one of your early subscribers, never knew that. The blog was so fully formed right out of the box.
I do miss some of the shorter posts you used to do, but when a topic works for me I’m glad it’s all there.
You started out as my first email read and now you’re last. Why? Because I want to get the others out of the way, so I can concentrate on Dosh Dosh. Certainly it’s been influential on Write for Blogs.
10k is kick@ss ..
just going by how you did it.. breaking all the “rules” its a phenomenal achievement..
I think the most important point (or advice) in this post is promoting the blog to the right audience.. the trick is to first arrive at the “right” audience .. what follows is comparatively easy if one has a shrewd mind which sees opportunities..
great work.. keep it up..
PS: why keep the feedcount now if as we jus read it doesn’t make a big difference .. jlt or any special reason..a new experiment perhaps?
Thanks for sharing your results and how you got there. Very helpful!
Another thought. Maybe everyone should Digg this post and see if the theory about being auto-buried is correct.
I just submitted it for those who want to Digg it:

Mazal tov Maki
Congrats. It also shows that while gimmicks can give you a temporary boost, the real content will out-do and out-last every time.
Hey Maki,
Congrats, my friend! Your blog was one of the first I stumbled upon when figuring out how to launch my own it, along with our conversations, have been a source of constant information and inspiration.
Just goes to show you that purist blogging is possible. something for me to revisit a bit more these days!
Congratz, Maki. Keep them coming…
It seams that I am late here.
anyway, congratulations again, man!
insightful, I was always wondering how come YOU of all the bloggers didn’t promote your feed in a more active way… i guess I found a useful answer to that. You seem to have a good point on the subject, I ll try to learn more from that, Thank you Maki !
Wow! Congrats Maki. That’s quite an achievement.
Just a quick comment regarding giving away freebies like ebooks. I think whether to do it or not depends a lot on the niche you’re in.
I’m a freelance writer, and so it’s worked well for me as far as subscribers. My newsletter currently has a circulation of 17,000+, built mainly through giving away a free ebook on article marketing.
Alternatively though, I recently read “The 4-Hour Workweek,” and one of the things Tim Ferris, the author, touted was removing the word “free” from your advertising as a business owner.
I’ve found over the last year or so that if people are interested in what you’re selling, giving away freebies won’t make a difference if the potential purchaser doesn’t want, need or have an interest in your product/service. And, neither will price, as long as they can afford it.
So, I guess what I’m saying is consider your options when using freebies as a promotional tool. In your case, the info you freely disperse here is enough to move anyone to buy whatever you may be selling if they really want to make money online.
Again, congrats. I’ve always enjoy your posts because they are so in depth.
Sincerely,
Yuwanda
well, no suprise with that amount of subscribers. most readers from noobs to average bloggers love your stuff, especially those listed under “Popular Posts”. I like your #3thing you didn’t do. anyway, why do you prepare to reveal the figure of your feed subscribers only now? oh yes, congratulation.
Congratulations! That’s an impressive number.
Congrats. Thanks for the tips
congratulations! you have proven your writing skills and for that you are entitled for the honor
keep up the good work and thank you for your tips!
Congrats on such a huge accomplishment and many thanks for tips, strategies, and motivation.
Congratulations Maki. You are an inspiration for us all.
Congratulation 2 dosh dosh. I get to kow yr website few months ago and I like the look and the content. Keep up the good work!
I knew there was some great number of subscribers. That’s why I keep coming back to read the blog.
I read this blog on Google reader, but can’t resist to click on the title to the post and leave comments.
This is a great achievement to Dosh Dosh. Keep it up!
That’s Great. Congratulations!!!
@ Fitz, Guy, Don, Fubiz, Esti, Marenda,
You’re welcome! I’m happy you found Dosh Dosh helpful.
@ Shankar
I’m not going to do anything special to celebrate this. Maybe when I double this feat. ^_^
@ Lidija
I don’t have any plans to start doing some of the points I didn’t do on the list. At the moment I’ll probably stick to just displaying the feedcount. I wouldn’t rule out anything else though in the future….
@ maneesh
I’m keeping the feedcount because I told myself I’ll only display it after reaching a certain number of subscribers. And now that the experiment has concluded, there’s no point in keeping it hidden. Can I just say that I want to flaunt it?
@ The Freelance Writer’s Blog
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on using freebies. It’s nice to hear from someone with experience.
@ Everyone else
Thanks a million for all the kind words!
hehe.. all I can say is about time you did..
Congrats Maki, great work and progress, but I’m sure if you’d followed just a few of the things you listed, that you didn’t do, then your feed count would be significantly higher. It’s the 26th right now, and in 5 days span after you’ve displayed your feed count you’ve gained 1700 new subscribers
. Good experiment anyway, that shows remarkable content is the main ingredient to a blog’s success.
I was curious as to why I wasn’t getting new DoshDosh posts but then I finally figured out that my sort order was wrong on the dates – DOH!
Anyways, I want to add my congratulations as well! You did it your way when it would have been so easy for you to go with the standard blogging formula. Bravo on having the conviction, determination and audacity to stand out truly from the crowd!
Congrats on a major milestone. Your blog is always a pleasure to read with refreshing information nuggets in almost every post.
Lots of very helpful information. Thanks!!
Very good informations at your webiste!
Congratulations Maki! Agree with your low noise and high signal.
Congratulations!
Very interesting points, I may have to experiment with posting feed counts and other things I’ve learned.
Thanks!
For what it’s worth:
I’m subscribed because you’re one of the few “bloggers” that share the same ethic me and my friends do: DETAILED AND USEFUL CONTENT. So many sites break a single, useful article down into 10 – 20 component parts to artificially increase traffic.
You sit down and create an authoritative and valuable resource. I appreciate that more than words can say. You deserve your success.
Hi Maki,
I sometimes wondered how many subscribers you had, thinking it’d be a huge figure.
Congratulations buddy. It’s no surprise, and I’m sure that you can easily break more barriers.
The reader display only shows how many email subscribers and not how many rss subscribes, right?
Is there a way to know this number?
Greetings from Beijing.
I dugg it for you:)
you are a hard working blogger
http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Dosh_Dosh_Reaches_10_000_Subscribers
Congratulations – this is all I wanted to say right now
— your fan
Wow nice figure. That proves that your content is really good
It is really an amazing figure.. A very succesful blogger.
Congratulations. Keep up the good work.
Congrats! I am a new comer here!
I am one of your fans because you are a “real” person. You provide us all with quality information in a very professional manner, but not in a stuffy kind of way. I always find something new when I come here. Congrats on reaching 10K subscribers. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
Wowie wee wow. I love this article. Another reason that people might subscribe is if you make them feel good about themselves. I guess that is kinda under the “self serving” catagory…
Congratulation to you, Dosh! 10,000 is huge success! You really are blogging with your heart. You really consider every factors that would make your readers and fans even make more comfortable.
Congratulations on this feat. I have read posts in your blog especially the one that describes the sites that pay for writing in our blog. Its a wonderful achievement by itself to be having 10,000 subscribers. Phew.. kudos mate!
P.S. So long I was thinking that you are a female and I just realized after reading your about me that you are a male student fom canada. lol…
So I guess the guest post theory is not the best theory after all. Things i love about this blog is that most of the articles are explained in depth – this appeals serious bloggers and casual money getters too.
Its great to see these points about blogging highlighted. I think one of the best things about the
internet has been blogosphere , and the amount of ideas and thoughts which can flow between ppl sitting in entirely different parts of the planet. It gives everybody a space to voice their thoughs to a huge audience.
Oh really thats very cool . And your trick was correct too….
At last i want to say Congratulation Dosh !!!
Very commendable. I was looking for someone who could get subscribers without those tactics. Thanks!
Can’t believe I have only just tripped over this site.
Where have I been, or where have you been all my life?
Anywho, lots to catch up on your site, all subscribed up.
And ofcourse congratulations on your success.

A flagship post! Congrats Maki.
I applaud your integrity and that’s what makes this such a great site.
If you don’t mind sharing, what are the unique visitor’s/day (or maybe return visitors) vs. the number of subscribers. How do you think your readership breaks down? Are they RSS subscribers, visitors that return from time to time, or those who find your content via search engines?
Congrats!! That’s super exciting! Someday my site will have 10,000 subscribers (by faith). Way to go man! Keep up the excellent work!
although it’s too late…but never too late for good thing. congratulation maki! it’s been a pleasure to read your educative n entertaining postings.
congratz dosh! I just come back again visiting your site. Keep the good works!, keep the good content!.
Congrats on breaking 10K!
You write with flair and authenticity. I subscribed to your blog last week.
Hey, Congrats on the 10k RSS Reader mark. You are well deserving of every reader you have (I am a frequent reader myself). I just wanted to say hey and tell you to keep up the great work. This time next year I would bet your blog will be far past the 20k mark. I would venture to say even past the 30k mark. Great content draws in readers.
Really useful actually I love ur cartoon,
Congratulations Dosh. I’ve learned a lot from reading your blog and have recently started my own. This post has given me hope that one can develop a decent readership in a year’s time. Thank you.
