Dada.net - Revenue Sharing Social Network

zwei.jpgSocial network Dada.net as recently launched an invitation only Adsense revenue sharing program thats currently open to users in the US and Italy. You’ll get to make some money whenever someone clicks or views the Adsense ads on your Dada website. Anyone else think this is a waste of time?

I’ve never ever made any significant money from Adsense revenue sharing websites, and I’m pretty much unconvinced when I hear the monetary benefits they promise. Perhaps we should abandon the myth that revenue sharing with Adsense is a generous way for websites to “give back” to their users. It isn’t, really.

Will Dada.net prove me wrong? Maybe. I’m never been a fan of social networks, but if you’re totally into MySpace and Panjea, you’ll probably fit right in with Dada.net.

  • I agree about the whole adsense sharning not really being worth it, but there are other benefits of social networking sites. I’m sure you are aware of them, things liike making contacs with other bloggers in your niche, or even just promoting your site.
It sounds like Dada.net is a bit like Squidoo, which I thought had potenial but I never really got into it.

  • I’m mostly just disturbed that the network is called “Dada”… I guess at least its a four letter domain name, but really what a horrible brand name :-)

I actually like “DADA” because it reminds me of an early 20th century absurdist art movement, which incidentally is also called DADA lol.

  • I agree with you, social networks never make me gain money, but surely they are useful to create contacts and traffic. But you have to be very active in “your network”, otherwise your pages will be submerged in few days.
To share revenue with a blog (base on Wordpress) I tried to make a plugin (blogger.satollo.com) that help the administrator to injectads in the posts and change on the fly the publisher id using a profile field of the post author. So, every autor can earn from their posts.

  • I had a opportunity to join a similar adsense network targeting adsense for search. Google shut down it’s search privileges.

No matter what the original business concept, Google frowns upon such services as the end user motivation is to merely gain click revenues.

The goal for any advertiser is to reach targeted niche demographics and not targeted niche ad clickers.
