PayperPost Direct Launches: Sell Paid Reviews Outside of a Marketplace
Payperpost has finally taken a big step forward in the paid blogging arena by bringing on some features that its immediate competitors, ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews, have had for some time.
Just launched yesterday, PayperPost Direct allows bloggers to sell sponsored posts directly to advertisers visiting their site, through the placement of badges which allows advertisers to immediately order any specific paid posts without leaving the site itself.
This builds on the setup that ReviewMe pioneered, which allows advertisers to contact any specific bloggers they want to target instead of running broad campaigns in paid review marketplaces.
PPP Direct allows you to take offers directly from any advertiser visiting your site. By placing a badge on your blog, anyone clicking that badge will be presented with a form to create an opportunity just for your, and you set the minimum offer price!
Even better PPP Direct allows you to negotiate with advertisers on the terms of the content. Do you think $20 is too little for 300 words? Tell the advertiser making the offer you want $25! Unlike other services PPP Direct charges a minimal fee of only 10% to help you facilitate the transaction. Our system puts advertiser money in reserve, if you do your job you will get paid!
Payperpost Direct’s Key Features
- Encourages direct contact with advertisers. Any advertisers visiting your website can purchase a review by clicking the ‘Hire me’ badge at your sidebar. This expands your paid opportunities reach beyond advertisers within the Payperpost network.
- Ability to negotiate pricing and post details. You’ll have the ability to set the minimum pricing and enter into discussion with the advertiser concerning pricing and review terms.
- Low Transaction cost. Unlike other sponsored blogging networks, Payperpost charges a low fee of 10% for administrating the transaction. This is one of their major selling points.
- Quick turnaround. You’ll receive payment as soon as the advertiser approves the review.
I took a quick look at the video introduction on the Payperpost blog and after logging in, discovered that Payperpost Direct has already been integrated perfectly within the Dashboard. Basic promotional buttons are also available for easy placement on your blog sidebar.
The features do seem to be well thought out and I’ve no doubt that they’ll be very well received by most bloggers already with Payperpost or other paid blogging networks.
Why use Payperpost Direct?
As I’ve mentioned in my tutorial on direct advertising sales, cutting out the middlemen and working directly with potential advertisers gives you higher returns and more flexibility because you have more leeway to negotiate with advertisers.
Why use Payperpost Direct at all? You could just as easily put up your own banner and “Advertise here’ link with ad rates on your own terms within a webpage. After all, there’s not much incentive for you to offer valuable sidebar space to promote the PPP brand.
I’ll just like to point out three reasons why PPP Direct will be useful for both bloggers and advertisers:
- Legitimacy. Advertisers may not trust the bloggers they come across and the PayperPost brand provides some sort of guarantee which makes the blogger seem more credible in the eyes of advertisers.
- Safety Net. PayperPost provides safeguards for both bloggers and advertisers and their presence will help to resolve possible disputes which arise from either non-payment or review arrangements.
- Convenience. Advertisers have the convenience of entering the post details on the blog itself and bloggers won’t have to handle the payment process. All opportunities are tracked through the PPP dashboard and they don’t have to micro-manage their email inbox.
Payperpost’s entry into site-specific paid reviews is marked by its focus on minimizing the middlemen presence. Setting their administrative rate at a low 10% and allowing direct contact with advertisers are two of its key marketing points.
If you’ve never had much success with direct ad sales, you might want to give PPP Direct a shot. Know that you’ll always have the option to remove them from your sidebar if they don’t seem to bring you any paid reviews.
I’ll like to emphasize that this is not a sponsored review paid by Payperpost. I’ll love to get some extra income but unfortunately I don’t think Payperpost is willing to pay for any reviews on Dosh Dosh (my PPP Direct rates are set at $400). Andy Beard was lucky enough to get the scoop on this and he also has a review of Payperpost Direct on his blog as well.
So this goes out for free, because it’s important information that’ll probably help most of you make some extra money from your blogs. I’ll love to hear what you think of this new service from PayperPost. Will you use it on your blog?

Thanks for the link through Maki
I think with PPP Direct you are effectively selling direct. You could just look on them as a payment service provider such as Clickbank.
You don’t have to use their badges, and could just use a text link as easily.
Hmm $400 - I am selling myself cheap
It will be interesting to see how this works out longterm. I have still retained links to Sponsored Reviews, but I have been wasting traffic sending it to ReviewMe.
If you had a PPP Direct Badge I might just ask for a sponsored post!
No way I’ll be using it!!

Kumiko
Andy,
I’ll see PPP Direct purely as a payment service provider if they drop their rates to 5%. 10% is still too hefty a figure, especially if you exponentially measure it over the long run.
I haven’t had too much success with ReviewMe’s affiliate program as well. Not to put doubts in everyone’s mind, but I’m not too convinced with the low conversion rates. Let’s just say they don’t really have an affiliate program that I trust fully.
Ted,
Don’t tease. If you really want a detailed review, feel free to contact me. I’ll be happy to negotiate. ^-^
Kumiko ,
Thanks for letting me know about your article. I do agree with your thoughts to some extent, as I’ve probably indicated in my post above.
I’ll withhold judgment on PPP Direct and give them some space and time to develop. After all, they’ve only just launched yesterday and I do think the contrasting opinions I’ve seen will provide some valuable feedback for systematic changes.
Another insight on PPP direct from the other side of the fence. I’m enjoying the topic simply becos I’m a PPP postie
and also, like to hear differing views on this launch. Like you said, this is new and it is fair to give it some time for tweaks, improvement, development…etc. Skepticisms are unavoided and infact can be healthy to better the system, which is beneficial for both advertisers, bloggers and the marketplace. Personally, to put a hire badge at $5 is way too cheap. Perhaps PPP direct offers more opportunities to paid bloggers who are new and starting out, unlike Review Me who analyzes your rankings and traffic before an approval is granted. So, I’m waiting to see if I have any success with PPP Direct, happy about the 10% comm instead of 50%… tho still glad that I’m making some $ with Review Me.
I’ve added my PPP Direct affiliate button on my blog already…. I would’ve preferred a lighter blue colour, but that would have to do.
I’ve put up the badge on this blog but not on my other more valuable ones
I’m experimenting as my other blogs are getting better deals from self advertising.
I’ll see how it works first and decide later.
Yeah I’ll be using it, purely as it’s another way in for advertisers. I’m still happy to do private deals, but as you say it helps promote legitimacy for both sides.
I also think that getting in to their directory of Bloggers early could prove useful.
Put it this way, by taking part I lose nothing, but could gain…
John Chow made exactly the same points as Kumiko (who got there first?
) The directory is coming and then what? PPP has made me substantially more money than any other scheme I’ve used, so I’m happy to give them a try and see what happens.
I might test the PPP , i don’t know if i should or not ? I hate when a website asks me about my SS#
I think any website where you have a chance to make significant income has to ask you for your SS#
I just stopped in from the Alexa link train… And I’m looking at these early sites on the train and thinking “wow! this really took a weird turn somewhere!” It all started out with “business” blogs … and now it’s … at mine! It’s almost spooky!
i dont know if this pay-per post will actually workout.
PPP seems to be a very good opportunity to invest time in.. i will surely try this. Thanks for the info.
Loved your site, plz check out mine and tell me what you think, maybe we can link exchange ? thanks
