Blog Plagiarism - Dosh Dosh gets ripped off.
Today I discovered that I’ve been plagiarized by a blogger who has simply copied and pasted a lot of Dosh Dosh’s blog posts onto several of his blogs. No credit whatsoever was given or permission requested and my posts made up the bulk of his blog’s content. Like most content thieves, he’s monetized his blogs with Google Adsense in a bid to earn some money off my original posts.
This is really the first time I’ve had to deal with a blogger stealing stuff from my blog, so the process is particularly unpleasant and frankly, pisses me off. I’m gonna give out the URLs for his blog because I believe a lot of his other posts were stolen from other blogs. If you own a money-making blog or blog about blogging, check his websites to see if any content was stolen from your blog.
Update: The blogger in question has removed my posts from his blogs. I’m leaving the URLs up for your verification purposes.

I left several messages on his blog but he refused to reply so I guess I’ll have to report this violation to Google Adsense in an effort to cut off his source of revenue. Will also be informing Blogspot so they’ll hopefully delete his blogs because of the copyrighted content. The blogger removed the posts on his blog, just a minute or two before I actually sent emails to Adsense/Blogspot. Lucky boy.
Anyone out there currently copying content from Dosh Dosh or any of my other websites, do note the following:
I will track you down even if it means spending money in the process.
I will only give you one warning. If It is unheeded, I will proceed to the following steps.
I will get your websites removed by your web hosts
I will report all copyright violations and will make sure you get banned permanently from all ad networks you use.
I will report your websites to the search engines and request that they deindex and blacklist your websites.
I will get as many details as possible on your web profile and publish it on all of the blogs, websites and forums I run.
I will let every social network or forum you are a member of, know that you are a content thief.
I will email everyone who links to you and inform that you are stealing content from my websites.
If you are in the U.S, I will hit you with a DMCA notice.
If you are anywhere else, you’ll get a cease and desist letter from my copyright lawyer.
I’m particularly vicious with plagiarists because this issue is something I cannot tolerate. Trust me, you really don’t want to steal from me. Word of advice: Delete any existing content now before I find it and start taking action.
When in doubt, always do the courteous thing and credit a website or blog you are taking the content from. And if you are really in need of quality content, either A) write it yourself, B) Hire a blogger or C) get it off free article directories.
If any of you out there wanna check if anyone has stolen your stuff, try Copyscape. If you don’t mind paying money, go with Copysentry, a web-based program that automatically searches the web weekly or daily for duplicates of your work. I’m gonna use Copysentry to find all the other websites that are also ripping off Dosh Dosh. Very irritating.
Has this happened to any of you out there? How did you deal with the problem of stolen content?

I have this problem too, but mostly from scraper sites. It’s not like they’re copying JUST my blog, but their robots gather up content at random to make a Splog for adsense. Just complete crap…
I had this happen one time years ago…turned out the perp was a coworker of mine! Once I found out, I left a 3×5 index card on his cubicle desk in front of his PC.
“Imagine what’s going to happen when the CEO gets my email to compare your site with mine, after I show him how long my files have been on my server.”
His URL went ‘dark’ before I checked later that night.
Do what you gotta do. If you’ve gotta get dirty…it’s not really that…they’ve already gotten it dirty.
wow what a bummer @@”.. hmm.. makes me wonder anyone copied my posting.. i’ll go check.. thanks for your info on copyscape
Most of my content is not text, but Flash animation. This, of course, can be easily stolen and placed anywhere.
Fortunately, I can place a tracking code (via mochibot.com) inside the animation that will send me a report on who is hosting it. Since starting, I’ve had around 8 sites swipe my work and use it as their own content.
I make sure to put links in the animation back to my site just in case, but because Google pretty much ignores Flash altogether I don’t get any of those precious back links.
I feel your pain. You were considering doing a joint blogging venture, maybe we could make it be about protecting your work?
Good for you to go after this guy with a vengeance. It’s hard work to provide good content. Get him Dosh, lol!
Yes - that would be annoying. Writing blogs can take a lot of hard work and effort, and for someone just to take them without your permission and then using them to make money from, is really not good. Especially when they can get articles for free from other sources anyway. Good on you for following it up though, and not just letting them get away with it.

Wow, your the man! I follow the link to your blog here from mylot, from the discussion you created about this matter there. You did the right thing man. The stealer/cheater won’t get away with it.
He is suck! That fellow do a lot of scam before, i of it is adgridwork! Dosh, i with you man!
Hey Louiss you suck! What is your problem with adgridwork?
Also your posts on your blog are similar with dosh dosh so what are talking about?Although I saw that you removed a lot of posts since doshdosh made this post!
Oh my word! That’s shocking. Good on you for making him remove the posts. If it’s any consolation, this means that your blog is very good (immitation being the sincerest form of flattery).
That sucks - putting your content up on dodgey sites like that devalues your content everywhere - go get them
Great article.
You should never do this. Just makes you look bad!
It’s really bad to see that your hard work is simply copied by other bloggers withouth giving you the proper credit. I hope that someone can finally create a software or something that will trackdown all pirates and close their websites. The internet will be a better place if that happens.
To other bloggers, for now, we can only rely with each other. If you find other blogger’s posts or contents being plagiarized by another blogger, do the right thing and alert the original owner.
Cheers everyone and let’s make blogging plagiarism free!!!
