Relevance and Distribution: Two Essential Factors in Social Media Marketing

social media marketing factorsThe term ‘link bait’ refers to materials created, published and spread online with the aim of attracting links, visitors and attention. These baits are often disseminated via social media websites, particularly social news communities like Digg or Reddit.

Ideally, you want as many people as possible to see these baits because this increases the potential for them to go viral. Social media channels are platforms to maximize visibility.

While primary channels like Digg might not send targeted traffic, they create opportunities for you to receive visitors and links from other relevant sources.

Don’t Forget to Experiment

Sometimes we get stuck in habits that prevent us from achieving success. In my opinion, one of the main obstacles for entrepreneurs is the unwillingness to act upon new ideas or development strategies which go beyond their comfort zone.

We bask in familiarity and repeat the same processes again and again because we know what to expect, because we fear uncertainty. Sometimes, businesses or websites stop short of the tipping point because they fail to offer that one special feature/benefit which makes them relevant and essential.

The Value of Influencers: Why They Are Still Relevant for Marketing Campaigns

influencersWho are the best people to approach when you want to promote your business? Common sense and experts would tell you to reach out to individuals with wide social connections or influence, because these people can affect the behavior of many others.

Their reputation allows your message to resonate more deeply within communities and hence spread more efficiently.

So instead of trying to reach the general populace, you focus on connecting with a select group of influencers, the ones that are knowledgeable, well-connected and persuasive. Let them sway the minds of others.
