Wordpress Plugin to Increase RSS subscribers

haruhi.jpgRichard Miller has just released his What Would Seth Godin Do (WWSGD) Wordpress plugin, which is designed to increase your number of RSS subscribers through the use of cookie-based messages that remind each reader to subscribe to your blog feed.

Very useful for repeat visitors to your blog because they’re very likely to subscribe if you just give them a gentle nudge in the right direction. Here’s his explanation of how the plugin works:

Make Money with Pageflakes - An Experiment.

noyuuutsu0436.jpgI’m sure some of you would have heard of PageFlakes, an personalized start page that you can set to show up whenever you turn on your computer and open your internet browser. This page is customizable and you can use it to display your address book, to-do list, blog or news feeds, calendar and many other widget-like applications.

Why should you use a personalized start page?

Affiliate Blogging and The Art of Slow Cooking

110304_sr04_02.jpgI’ve been researching on how blogs can be used as a means to promote affiliate programs because I’m pretty interested in how blogs seem to have some natural potential for building stable and long-term relationships between the affiliate and the customer.

Blogs grow over time and their accumulated content is a gold-mine for search engines and the targeted traffic they bring. While contextual Ad networks like Adsense are effective, passive ways of earning money from a blog, I think affiliate programs are superior in many aspects, particularly in terms of long-term profit.

Need free blog traffic and links? Try the Z-List.

pinku.jpgMack Collier from A Viral Garden started ‘The Z List‘ in December 2006 as a response towards Technorati’s method of assigning authority based on the number links pointing to a blog. The Z list is a blog meme, which sees bloggers creating and sharing a list of many links to blogs in a single post.

Participants joining the Z list meme will have to copy and paste a list of blogs, while including any new blogs on the list that they feel should get the exposure they deserve.

Profit Sharing News Group - Digital Journal

digital journal.jpgDigital Journal.com is a user-news community that offers a revenue-sharing program for bloggers, internet users and citizen journalists.

Setting aside a portion of advertising revenues in a cash pool, the community allows members to make money based on their level of activity on the website.

How much you’ll earn very much depends on the number of news and video posts you submit. Commenting and ranking other user-submitted stories is also counted as a way to determine how much money you’ll take from the cash pool: The more you interact, the more you’ll earn.

Simple Adsense Hack for a higher CTR

geass1_02.jpgI don’t remember where I first came across this tip but I do remember reading that it’ll helped some people get a higher Click Through Rate (CTR) for the ads on their website. I’m not too sure if it actually works for everyone but I do think that it’ll definitely make your ads blend in better with text and media. This Adsense hack works by removing the ‘Advertise on this site‘ text that shows up with every Adsense unit on your website.

Here’s a screen shot of what I am referring to:

densha otokoBloggers who focus their efforts on the monetization would have come across Money 4 Blogs,a website that’ll pay you to include a text link on your blog’s sidebar. The text links usually point to financial websites such as insurance companies and will not lead to any illegal or obscene content. There is no sign up process involved; just plug in your email address, blog URL and Page Rank and you’ll likely to receive a email offer within a few days.
